This state of Australia covers almost the entire western third of the Australian continent, Western Australia, in short know as WA is Australia’s largest state and is known for being the world’s second largest sub-national entity.
The Public holidays WA observe are similar to the other states and territories of Australia. Special occasions in Australia are celebrated with great sanctity.
Though each of the states or territories celebrate certain special occasions like the Queen’s birthday on different days, the general public holidays WA are commonly shared.
The general special occasions under the public holidays WA include New Year’s Day on the 1st of January, Australia day on the 26th of January, Good Friday on a specific Friday in the month of April, Easter on specific Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the month of April, Anzac day on the 25th of April, Foundation day on the 6th of June, Queen’s official birthday on a specific date on any given month of the year declared by the Government, Christmas day on the 25th of December and the Boxing day on the 26th of December respectively.
History reveals that the foundation day of Western Australia though is celebrated on the first Monday in the month of June, the officially it is on the 1st of June. The WA foundation day is celebrated in the commemoration of the foundation of the Swan River colony in the way back in the year 1829.
The list of public holidays WA reflects the Queen’s official birthday in the month of September or October. It is because Western Australia celebrates foundation day in June, it is the only state in Australia that does not celebrate the Queen’s official birthday in the month of June. Instead, Western Australia celebrates the Queen’s birthday in the month of September or October.

territory law. For example, regional public holidays that apply only
in a specific area, state public holidays for Labour Day and
Melbourne Cup Day in Victoria.
